Game access

Access to the game is straightforward - just connect your browser wallet to have your address used as identifier in the game. This is also needed to send you any crypto rewards you earn. No upfront purchases are required to play the game!

For players who do not have a browser wallet, it is still possible to play the game and even rank on the leaderboard for rewards. However they need to install and connect a crypto wallet at some point to receive rewards.

Controls

Chestnut's gameplay is designed to be simple yet engaging, with a focus on exploring the world, battling monsters, and competing against other players for epic rewards.

• Use the keyboard (WASD or arrow keys) to move your character in 8 different directions

• Use V for the victory pose emote

• In combat, simply left-click to shoot arrows in a full 360 degrees towards your pointer. Move your pointer to adjust your aim!

• Use number keys (1 or 2) to use your quickslot items

• Use space to use the shield

Interface

The HUD of the game is kept minimal. The image below shows the health and DAI loot counter in the top-left and the quickslots in the bottom-left. In addition, players and monsters have a health bar above themselves visible to all other players.

The HUD will evolve as new features are added but is expected to remain minimalistic.

Game loop

Players start on the Haven map, a safe haven where combat is disabled. Here, players can claim unclaimed DAI or chestnut points at the Chestnut tree and access the in-game shop.

From there, players can walk through vortices leading to other maps, where they must fight for survival against other players and monsters.

Upon death, players will respawn in Haven with full health, but will lose any carried DAI (which will be granted to the player(s) who killed them).
